Tom has always surrounded himself with artists.  As a drummer for over 50 years, he has realized that his most meaningful relationships in life are with other musicians.  Although his business ventures began in another industry, his appreciation for exceptional songwriting led him to establish Three Hounds Music in 2015.  This company offers him the opportunity to use his leadership and business skills with his passion for music, making this a true labor of love for him.  With the expansion of artist development, Tom hopes to bridge the gap between new artists and seasoned professionals. 

Tom’s other interests include collecting and playing guitars and traveling.

Voting member of The Recording Academy and a member of National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM).    

Al Staehely, Jr. has practiced law in Houston, Texas since 1979 and specializes in Entertainment Law, including all matters pertaining to the music and film business. His clientele of artists and producers has included Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Gibbons, Blue October, Doug Sahm, Paul Kantner, co-Founder of Jefferson Airplane, Foghat, Johnny Nash, Andy Johns, King’s X, as well as music and film companies.

Staehely has represented clients in negotiations with major label record, publishing, and distribution companies, as well as overseas companies with regard to record, publishing, sub- publishing, and licensing deals. He also represents clients with respect to copyright and trademark issues.

After graduating from University of Texas Law School in 1970, Mr. Staehely moved to Los Angeles and joined the already established band, Spirit, as lead singer, bass player, and principal songwriter. His songs have been recorded by many artists, and, he has released several solo albums.

Mr Staehely is a member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Shane Barrett moved to Nashville in 1985 to pursue a Music Business degree from Belmont University. A lifelong musician, Barrett played guitar and sang background vocals with several touring acts after college, including Lacy J. Dalton. In 1994, he began an eight-year tenure with MCA Records Nashville, eventually reporting as A&R Manager to famed producer and MCA President/Head of A&R Tony Brown. Barrett signed two acts to the label during that time and found two #1 hit singles for Gary Allan.

Barrett left MCA Records in late 2002 to start his first independent songplugging company, Shane Barrett Songs, LLC, which resulted in several notable cuts, including Faith Hill’s top 10 hit “Sunshine & Summertime” and Kenny Rogers’ top 20 hit “I Can’t Unlove You”. He was then recruited in 2006 as Nashville Creative Director for Canadian-based publishing company, ole’. Barrett’s many cuts during that time included Eli Young Band’s #1 hit “Crazy Girl” (2011 Billboard Country Most Performed Song & 2012 ACM Song Of The Year) and Billy Currington’s #1 hit “Let Me Down Easy”.

Since July 2010, Barrett has owned and operated his current independent songplugging company, Shane Barrett Music, LLC, which has resulted in over 400 artist cuts, including Luke Bryan’s “Too Damn Young”, Jason Aldean’s “In Case You Don’t Remember”, Craig Morgan’s 2022-23 radio single “How You Make A Man”, as well as cuts by Wynonna, Brett Young, Trisha Yearwood, Danny Gokey, Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina, The Little River Band, and many others.

When Grace Harrison joined the team, it became a family business as she is Tom’s daughter.  In addition to being one of our published writers, Grace became the Project Coordinator for Three Hounds Music after graduating from St Andrews University in Scotland.    She makes sure our client’s needs are met and their experience with our team exceeds their expectations.
